Memorial Gathering for John Duncker
Saturday June 4, 2022
6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Laurel Hill Golf Club
8701 Laurel Crest Dr
Lorton, VA 22079
As you know, we all lost one of our dear friends, John Duncker, when he died of pancreatic cancer back in February 2020, right before the onset of the COVID pandemic.
John was well known and beloved by many in the DC area. He was a long-time resident of Northern Virginia, a proud graduate of Fort Hunt High School in Fairfax County, a golf enthusiast who devoted his career to serving as a golf course superintendent at courses in the area, and a die-hard Caps fan who shared season tickets for decades with his father Al Duncker. Because of the pandemic, we have been unable to get all of his friends together for a memorial gathering. With the pandemic now receding, a number of John’s old friends have arranged a memorial gathering in John’s honor, and we would like to invite you to attend.
The gathering will take place on June 4, 2022 from 6-10 pm. It will be at the Laurel Hill Golf Club -- the club where John was serving as the golf course superintendent when he died – and it will include dinner and an open beer and wine bar (no charge for invited and registered guests). The club is in Lorton, Virginia, just south of Fort Belvoir.
If anyone has questions, please feel free to reach out to Wilson Mann (wilsonmann@comcast.net), Dave Bundren (david.bundren@maxar.com) or Ken Wainstein (kenwainstein@gmail.com).
We look forward to seeing you on June 4th and celebrating John’s life and friendship together.
